Rechecks: when to run one and what "changed" means
Can’t find what you need? Email support@okoint.com
A recheck runs your last report again and compares the two. It leads with what changed, so you only fix what needs fixing. It costs 1 credit.
When to run one
- After you’ve worked through your fixes, once the sites have had time to act, to see which listings are gone.
- Every few months after that. People-search sites list people again from new data.
- After a change in your life, such as a move or a new phone number, or if you think someone is looking for you.
We email you when a recheck is due.
What “changed” means
Your recheck has a Changes since the last report section that marks each result:
- New: found this time and not last time.
- Back again: gone last time, back now. This is common. See When an opt-out doesn’t stick.
- Removed: found last time and not this time. Usually a sign an opt-out worked.
Everything else in the report was found both times.
Your exposure level may move too. A lower level means the routes to your sensitive details got longer or broke.
What carries over
Your contact details and past names & usernames are used again, so add anything new before you start the recheck.
Fixes you marked done stay marked on your earlier report. The recheck starts a fresh list of fixes, so mark them again as you go.
